Terms of Service

Last updated: May 19, 2026

These terms govern your use of Early Bird, an iOS app made by Cleveland Computing ("we," "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Early Bird.

The app

Early Bird is an iPhone alarm app that uses Apple's AlarmKit framework. It requires iOS 26.1 or later. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and these terms.

Subscriptions

Some features of Early Bird require a paid subscription. We currently offer:

  • Yearly: $69.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
  • Weekly: $5.99 per week, no trial.

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price and interval unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings on your device. Pricing may vary by country and is shown in your local currency at purchase.

Free trial

If your plan includes a free trial, you can use Early Bird at no cost for the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will convert to a paid subscription at the price shown at signup. You can cancel at any time during the trial through your Apple ID settings and you will not be charged.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled through Apple's standard process at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not able to issue refunds directly.

What you agree to

  • You will not reverse engineer, modify, or attempt to circumvent the verification logic.
  • You will not use the app in a way that violates any law or Apple's App Store guidelines.
  • You are responsible for the device you install the app on, including keeping it charged and granting the permissions Early Bird needs to function (Alarms, Camera, Notifications, Motion).

How the app behaves

Early Bird is an alarm. It is built to be reliable, but you should not rely on it as the sole alarm for safety-critical events. Phones can run out of battery, lose power, crash, or have permissions revoked by the operating system. We provide a nightly pre-flight check to warn you about common failure modes, but we cannot guarantee that an alarm will fire under all conditions.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Early Bird is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cleveland Computing is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app, including missed alarms, lost data, or loss of opportunity. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using Early Bird at any time by deleting the app and cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
